Life Drawing 21/01/11

First life drawing of the semester and BOY was I rusty.  Poor Reinhard couldn't make the class due to an emergency at home, so Dougie, the life model, took the class.  There were a bunch of cardboard boxes set up in the classroom (dunno why) so the model waded through them for each pose.  Just before break he got a bunch of boxes together then proceeded to jump off the wee stage back-first into them.  That was our pose.  Mental!

Also tried experimenting with colour, which went badly to say the least.  Took in some oil pastels and attempted to use them on two of the drawings, but I'm not totally happy with them.  Don't really know how to use them either so I think I'll maybe buy some brown charcoal pencils for next week, start with something easier.

Poses were various times, the first few were 5 minutes, then the jump-into-the-boxes pose was half an hour.  After break we had 20 minute poses.  All were done using willow charcoal, and the two coloured are done using oil pastels.
